International Sign Night
Held at the Golden Gate Hotel
Saturday 16 June 2007

In preparation for the 15th World Congress of the World Federation of the Deaf to be held in Madrid, VCOD and ASLIA Vic came together for a fundraising evening of FUN! A special thank you to Maxine Buxton and her partner...Maxine proved she was more than an interpreter and taught us to tango!
Kathy Fitzmaurice tells us about the night...

As WFD Congress is being held in Spain this year, vibrant Spanish was the theme and many people dressed up in Spanish clothing. It was a very exciting atmosphere!

A fantastic fun filled night was enjoyable by all who came.

Sign language from various countries such as Ireland, Germany, America, New Zealand, Japan, Kosovo, Bosnia Herzegovina, Hong Kong, Canada were demonstrated.

Sexy Flamenco dancers performed for the crowd and some people joyfully joined in to learn how to dance in Spanish style.

Loud applauds to Susan Emerson and Medina Sumovic for hosting the night.

A BIG thank you to VCOD members, ASLIA members and the deaf community for supporting this fundraiser.

A token of appreciation to the Manager of the Golden Gate Hotel for his hospitality and fantastic venue.
